About VR ProOptics prescription lenses

How do I read my prescription?

What prescription range is supported?

Our normal prescription range for VR ProOptics lens inserts is as follows:

Sphere (SPH): -9.0D to +5.0D
Cylinder (CYL): -4.00D to +4.00 (depending on your Sphere prescription)

Please provide only your Distance (Far) prescription.

Prescriptions outside of this range, or with Prism, can normally be supplied using the Special Order option for higher power product options.

If you have any questions about prescriptions, you can contact us via email on support@vrprooptics.com

What is included in my order?

Every VR ProOptics order comes with the following:

  • VR ProOptics lens inserts (R and L)
  • Protective EVA storage case
  • Microfiber cleaning cloth
  • Installation and user guide

What do I need to place my order?

You will need to have a valid optical prescription for your distance vision, unless you are purchasing plano (non-prescription) lenses.

Your prescription should be less than 2 years old.

You have two options to choose from when submitting your prescription:

  1. Input all the prescription values into the relevant fields on our web page when adding the product to your cart.
  2. Alternatively, you can attach a picture of your prescription when adding the product to your cart.

CAREFULLY CHECK that you input the data correctly for each eye, and that the Positive (+) and Negative (-) values are entered correctly before placing your lens order.

Once we have received a valid prescription, we can then process your order.

Do I need to supply a Near ADD (Reading Addition) power for my VR lens order?

VR headsets make your eyes focus on a virtual image as if it were placed somewhere between 1.5 - 3 meters away from you. The exact focus distance is dependent on the specific headset.

If you are 40+ and have a prescription which includes a Near ADD power (Reading Addition), please include these Near ADD values together with your distance prescription when you place your order.

If you have a significant Near ADD power, knowing this value gives us the opportunity to make a minor adjustment to your VR lenses to give you the best possible vision for your chosen headset. We often refer to this as our ‘VR Gaming Boost’.

If you are under 40 you are very unlikely to have a ADD value in your prescription and you can place your order using your distance prescription, and select ‘None’ in the Near ADD box.

Do I need to supply my PD (Pupillary Distance) measurement?

Most VR headsets have an inbuilt system to adjust the lenses to match your pupil position. We don’t normally require a PD measurement.

If you have chosen lenses for one of the few VR devices that need a PD measurement, this will be clearly shown on the product order page.

How do I identify Right and Left lens inserts?

VR ProOptics lens inserts are easily identifiable as they have R and L markings on the side so you can easily identify them for installation.

How long will my order take?

You can find estimated production and delivery times on each product page – please look for the 'Product and Deliver' dropdown below the product description.

Why don’t you include taxes and customs charges if I order from outside the UK?

If you are ordering from within the UK then the prices on our website include VAT. If you are ordering from somewhere outside of the UK then the total charge for your order does not include any import taxes or customs duties. It works out cheaper for you if you pay these charges directly when receiving the goods.

Our products would be much more expensive if we included the total cost of taxes, customs charges and all fees charged by third parties to manage their payment. The taxes and duties vary by country, and you should check whether your order will incur any such charges before finalising your purchase.

Adlens Limited (trading as VR Pro-Optics) will not be liable for any import or customs charges incurred by the customer for importing goods to their final destination. If any customs duties or charges are due, you will receive an email from our third-party shipping supplier instructing you on how to pay these charges. Please note that your order will not be delivered until these fees are settled.

Where are VR ProOptics prescription lenses made?

The VR ProOptics prescription lenses are designed and manufactured in and shipped from the UK.
